Terrible design, bad customer service

"I am a flight attendant and I have been using the Flightcrew 11 spinner for 1 year with no problems. I decided to "upgrade" to this more durable, higher quality bag and it was a huge mistake. It easily falls over, doesn't roll smoothly on carpet, and the laptop pocket is unusable (since it causes it to topple over). The bars in the center of the suitcase make packing a hassle and it's difficult to maximize the space while carefully packing items by weight to prevent the bag from being too topheavy to stand upright. I contacted Travelpro to exchange the bag, and it is an inconvenient and expensive process. If you absolutely want a spinner, look elsewhere."

Great suitcase with one downfall

"I purchased this suitcase to replace a 10 year old hardsided bag that has traveled the world with me and recently broke due to a security agent. To say it had some big expectations to fill is an understatement. This review comes after a two week trip through Asia and a one week trip for a family holiday. This suitcase is well built, the materials all appear to be solid and I haven't noticed any quality escapes. The handles are all stout and the zippers are heavy duty with good feel without any binding. The telescoping handle releases with ease and doesn't "wobble" about. The wheels are probably my favorite feature as they are smooth and the magnetic witchcraft inside them keep the suitcase from shimmying down the concourse. The inside is nicely lined and offers a good amount of room compared to similar sized suitcases. There are three mesh pockets on the sides and tops that you can stick stuff in (although I have no clue what I'd put in there). The laptop sleeve is one of the reason I bought the bag and it is lined with a fair bit of foam. There are also two other front storage zippers. The top one fits my Bose headphones with ease and the bottom one is great for a standard sized Ipad (not the TV screen they sell now). Overall its a great bag. Although two major complaints. The first being that the telescoping handle takes up a decent amount of room on the interior of the bag. If you are packing for a long trip you basically need to take all your socks and underwear to roll them between the tubes, otherwise its a ton of wasted space. The second and by far the biggest downfall of this bag is that it is severely unbalanced. If you pack it full or put a heavy laptop in the front sleeve it has a tendency to tip forward due to the front wheels being too under the bag. I need to play with packing the bag differently to see if I can get it to balance."

Great if you want to ditch the laptop bag

"I wanted this because I want to ditch the backpack for my laptop and have everything in one case. This suitcase delivers. I went for a 2-day trip and was able to put all my necessary clothes in it, etc., and also bring along my laptop. Negatives are a) the handle is a bit short (I am tall, so not a big deal for most), b) b) it gets a little front-heavy with all the stuff in it and is prone to fall over unless set right on the wheels (it gets heavy with so much stuff in it). But these are minor issues. Overall pleased with the purchase."
